Feb. 20th 2025 – Online workshop Event Wrap-up

“Advanced concepts for high efficiency crystalline Silicon technology: how to ensure affordability, security of supply and sustainability of PV technologies”.

The online workshop gather more than 60 participants. The targets of the workshop was to discuss current activities, challenges and possibilities for the future of crystalline Silicon technology.

The programme included presentations from cluster projects BURST, TERASUN and SiLEAN and invited project PEPPERONI. The BURST project was greatly presented by our coordinator, Dr. Udo Römer, with recent progress updates on the developed technologies. The workshop also featured high-level talks on EU strategy and expected impact on the PV sector by Maria Getsiou (European Commission), and Dr. Delfina Munoz (ETIP PV) discussed the new co-programmed partnership for solar PV.

The second part of the workshop included a Q&A session to answer participants’ questions about developed technologies, collaboration and the EU strategy for the PV sector.

A panel discussion focused on long term European research strategy with experts like Maria Getsiou (European Commission), Dr. Bernd Stannowski (HZB), Dr. Ralf Preu (ETIP PV) and Dr. Robby Peibst (ISFH), moderated by Dr. Achim Woyte from CINEA, closed the event with insightful discussions.
