18M General Assembly – Lisbon, Portugal, 23rd and 24th of October 2025
BURST celebrated its half-way mark at the 18M General Assembly in Lisbon on the 23rd and 24th of October 2025.
Hosted by our partner Universidade Nova de Lisboa in their campus at the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, it was the opportunity to discuss the progress of all work packages activities and how to address challenges and next actions for the next period.
We also got the chance to visit CENIMAT | i3N ’s labs and facilities, discussing over impressive equipment and further collaboration opportunities.

12M General Assembly – Dublin, Ireland, 12th and 13th of April 2025
On the 12th and 13th of April took place the 12-month General Assembly of the BURST project, hosted by Nines PV in sunny Dublin, Ireland. Progress of the last 6 months was presented, with the participation of our External Advisory Board online, leading to rich discussions and clear action plans for the next 6 months.
The project partners also had the chance to visit NINES PV’s facilities within the TU Dublin campus and incubator, discussing over technology possibilities.
Online workshop dedicated to Advanced concepts for high efficiency crystalline Silicon technology: how to ensure affordability, security of supply and sustainability of PV technologies.

6M General Assembly – Delft, The Netherlands, 2nd & 3rd of December 2024
The BURST consortium gathered for our 6-month General Assembly meeting! Our partner Delft University of Technology hosted the event and gave us a technical tour of their facilities and labs. During the meeting, we shared our first results and progress, and discussed the actions for the next six months.

Kick Off Meeting – Brussels, Belgium, 29th & 30th of May 2024
The BURST project had its Kick-Off meeting on the 29th and 30th of May in Brussels, Belgium.
The project, funded under Horizon Europe, will explore methods to improve Photovoltaic cells efficiency thanks to innovative light trapping and passivation methods. Cost efficiency, improved environmental impact, supply security and circularity will be at the core of the development to demonstrate the advantage of the BURST technology in relevant environments.
